Boil water advisory lifted in Rochester Hills, Oakland Township

Rochester Hills and Oakland Township have lifted their boil water advisories Thursday.

The announcement by officials came after 12 Oakland County communities have been dealing with water pressure and quality issues most of the week.

Repairs continue on the water main break at 14 Mile Road and Drake which started Monday evening.  The Great Lakes Water Authority is investigating how a 48-inch water transmission line failed. More than 50,000 people were affected.

There are still 10 communities under the boil water advisory:

Bloomfield Township
Commerce Township
Farmington Hills
Keego Harbor
Novi: city water shut off by Water Authority. Water being given out at Novi Civic Center to elderly residents and those in need
Novi Township
Orchard Lake
Walled Lake
West Bloomfield Township
Wixom
