Bomb squad investigates military ordinance at Highland Park police station

Investigators are looking at a potentially explosive device brought to Highland Park police headquarters Thursday night.

The Detroit police bomb squad is at the scene, examining what a source told FOX 2 resembles an artillery shell, recovered by a reserve officer.

That Highland Park reserve police officer drove the device to the police station at 14112 Woodward. The Detroit police bomb squad was called in to assist the situation behind the station.

The device was found behind Windhams Barber Shop.

Stay with FOX 2 as more details as they become available.
