Casino workers could go on strike

Casino workers in Detroit could be heading to the picket line. The workers went to the polls and voted to authorize a strike.

That means, the conditions are right for a strike if workers at the MGM Grand Detroit, Motor City and Greektown casinos are unhappy with the way negotions go.

The workers say back in 1999 when the casinos opened, they were promised steady, full-time jobs. The workers say now, though, that they are now being told some jobs are becoming part time and that they are being asked to chip in more money for insurance.

Those negotiations continue on Monday, Nov. 9.
