After campaigning in Flint, Chelsea Clinton made a visit to Detroit to meet Mayor Mike Duggan.

Perhaps in a move to attract younger voters, the daughter of Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton made a campaign swing in Michigan.

Chelsea Clinton stopped in Detroit to tour Youthville Detroit, a community center that offers programs for underserved youth.

She fielded questions from the crowd, she spoke about how important it was for young people to vote and get involved in the political process

"If you are unhappy about what is happening in your local environment," Clinton said, "I hope one day you think about running to succeed the mayor."

"Not too soon," quipped Mayor Mike Duggan.

Duggan - who introduced the former first daughter, applauded her efforts to visit not only Detroit but to a Flint hospital to address the water crisis, which she feels has become a moral issue.

When asked if her mother's campaign believes Gov. Rick Snyder should resign, she said:

"My mom says we should be listening to what Mayor (Karen) Weaver, Doctor Mona Hanna-Attisha, and what other community leaders are saying," Clinton said. "What they are saying they need is accountability but what they want first and last is support for the victims."

It is no secret Hillary Clinton has been underperforming so far at the polls and followed by an email scandal, which has seemed to impact the public's trust.

"I don't really remember a time my mom wasn't under fire," Chelsea Clinton said. "And there is no one I trust more than my mom. So I never understand that question my mom always taken care of me, always supported me."

Pregnant with her second child, the mother to be graciously accepted baby gifts made in Detroit from the director of the Lloyd Wright Settlement Program.

Focusing on the issues surrounding Detroit Public Schools, Chelsea Clinton feels students need better education, additional funding and more opportunities - something she says that would be a priority if her mom was elected.

"I think that is a big distinction," Clinton said. "Between her and her opponent. She has a real record of talking about progress  but also really making progress for the people who matter most.

FOX 2 is told Chelsea Clinton was heading to the hotel to watch her mom face off against Bernie Sanders in the last Democratic debate before they take the stage in Flint in a few weeks.
