ECORSE, Mich. (WJBK) - Complete strangers worked miracles off the field so the Ecorse Hurricanes could work miracles on it.
They're headed to Orange County California for the American Amateur Baseball Congress World Series.
Their scrappy play earned them a spot in the national tournament, but a lack of funds made competing in it a pipe dream.
But after we put out the call, the donations poured in.
Over 150 people stepped up to the plate and dug in their pockets--- including carol andring and rightway automotive with a whopping eight thousand dollar donation to the hurricanes go fund me account.
Between GoFundMe, skating party fundraisers and the boys selling water in the blistering heat, the Hurricanes raised about $25,000.
That's enough for airfare, lodging, and food.
None of the kids will have to pay anything out of their own pocket.
