Police: Mother shoots, kills son at Farmington Hills apartment

FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. (WJBK) - Authorities are investigating a deadly shooting that happened early Wednesday morning at a Farmington Hills apartment complex.

The Farmington Hills Police Department says a 24-year-old man was found shot at the Independence Green Apartment Complex on Eisenhower Court, which is near the intersection of Grand River Avenue and M-5. Police say he was shot by his mother.

The mother, who lives at the apartment complex, told police her son forced his way into her apartment and that she was defending herself and other family members. Police say there have been past allegations of assault involving the son.

We're told the woman is a valid CPL holder.

Police are continuing to investigate, but say neighbors are not in any danger right now.
