Dearborn PD: story of 13 killed in Dearborn is fake

The Dearborn Police Department is putting out a warning that officials hope everyone heeds: a Facebook post claiming 13 people were killed is fake.

The Facebook post started spreading on Facebook late Wednesday night. Around 7:00 a.m., the Dearborn PD put out a statement on Facebook that said the story is fake.

"There is a fake website link that has been making the rounds on Facebook, with the headline of "13 killed and 24 wounded in Dearborn".

This site targets not only Dearborn, but other cities as well with the same storyline.

Please know that this story is entirely fictional and has no foundation in reality."

The post sends people to a poorly written story on the website primetells.info. The story claimed 13 people were killed and 24 were wounded.

On the website, there are several other stories with the same picture and the same headline, but with different cities. Flint is one of those cities, as well as Erie, Portsmouth, Camden, Duluth, etc.

The Dearborn Police is hoping to stop the fictitious story before it spreads any further. Here's their Facebook post:
