Dearborn woman escapes from kidnappers' trunk, police say

A Dearborn woman was able to escape her would-be kidnappers after she was abducted by a former friend in Detroit over the weekend.

Dearborn Police said the woman showed up to Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit just before 1:30 Saturday morning. The 22-year-old victim said she was abducted by a former female friend and the woman's boyfriend from her home in Dearborn.

The woman told police she was forced into the trunk of the car at gunpoint and the two drove away from the scene. They were eastbound on interstate 94 when she was able to pull the vehicle's trunk release and jump out of the moving car near Livernois.

Another driver saw the woman and stopped to help and drive the woman to the hospital for help.

Dearborn Police said they announced the duo on Wednesday but did not release their names. They're expected to be arraigned on Friday on kidnapping charges
