Deputies say teen girls assaulted, carjacked pizza driver

Washtenaw County deputies are investigating an alleged assault and robbery of a Happy's Pizza delivery driver in Ypsilanti Township.

Investigators say two 14-year-old girls attacked the driver, 45, with black metal objects striking him multiple times in the face and head. They then stole his vehicle and cash, which happened in the 900 block of Davis Street on Friday, Oct. 27.

Deputies located the vehicle with the two teen nearby and arrested them, holding them in the Washtenaw County Juvenile Detention Center.

The driver was taken to the hospital for his injuries and is expected to recover.

Deputies say the vehicle and cash were recovered from the juvenile suspects and the case remains under investigation.
