Despite rain, Spirit of Detroit outfitted with MSU jersey

The Spirit of Detroit has caught the Spartan fever. The statue has gone green in support of Michigan State's football team.
It was a struggle to get the jersey up on this wet, cold day, though. The rain finally let up for a little bit so the jersey with the number 1 could be fitted.
"There's a lot of emotion throughout the state. What a better place to show it right here in the middle of Detroit," says Paul Schager, the MSU Associate Athletic Director. He made the trip from East Lansing to see the jersey be fitted Monday morning.
The jersey will stay up until the big playoff game, which is December 31 against Alabama.
