Detroit Lions' Golden Tate III asks breast cancer patients to sign cleats

One of the Detroit Lions' star receivers will be sporting a special pair of cleats after spending Friday gathering signatures from local breast cancer patients and survivors.

Golden Tate III visited the Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute next to Harper Hospital this afternoon asking patients to sign his cleats that he'll wear during the Lions game against the Carolina Panthers on Sunday.

The goal is to bring attention to the importance of early detection and provide information about the risks for several types of cancer.

Sunday's game is part of the Lions cancer awareness effort called Crucial Catch. Learn more about that initiative by clicking here.
