Detroit firefighter found dead inside home

Detroit police is looking for the public's help finding the suspect in the murder of a Detroit firefighter.

The victim, David Madigral, was found inside his house on the 7600 block of Vaughan Street on the west side of the city by his son. Sources say he is a Detroit firefighter.

Madrigral's family went to check on the 59-year-old Monday around 7:30 p.m. and found him dead inside the house from a gunshot wound. He was found in a chair with a wound on the right side of temple. 

According to the medical examiner, he died from blunt force trauma and it was not a gunshot wound, as initially believed.

Items inside his house were stolen as well as his black 2015 Ford Explorer Harley Davidson model. The license plate number is 247S21C

Madrigal had been assigned to Engine 33 on Lawndale.
