Detroit girls missing after taking out trash found safe

The two young children were last seen around 3:15 p.m. Monday in the 4300 block of Chrysler when police say they went outside to take out the trash and did not come back. They have not disappeared in the past.

Two Detroit girls who went missing after taking out the trash have been safe, according to officials.

Police say Envi McClin, 12, and Montashia Brown, 9, were found safe in Flint.

Detroit police had previously said that they were with their maternal grandmother, 53-year-old Wendy Harris, who had gone missing as well. It is not yet known if the children were with their grandmother.

The children had been last seen taking out the trash in the 4300 block of Chrysler and had not returned.
