Detroit Historical Museum's Aretha Franklin exhibit open to public

- A new exhibit honoring the amazing life and legacy of Aretha Franklin is now on display at the Detroit Historical Museum.

It's a chance to look back and learn more about the Queen of Soul. And it's absolutely free.

The Detroit Historical Society is hoping to accurately showcase her life, her career and even some fun facts you may not know.

Also on display is a piece by local artist Dave Santia, painted while he listened to her music.

The museum is located across the street from the Detroit Institute of Art on Woodward Avenue. The exhibit runs until at least next June and possibly longer.
