The NFL released a handful of Color Rush uniforms for the teams to wear exclusively on Thursday Night Football, and the Detroit Lions' all-black uniform reveal was among them.

The Lions' Color Rush uniform features a black jersey with blue numbers outlined in white trim, black pants with a thick blue stripe between two silver stripes and two white stripes as well as black socks.

You can take a peek at what they'll look like, and buy the jerseys here.

This is the most substantial change to their uniform since 2009, when they rolled out their current look. The team also permanently added a commemorative patch to the uniform in 2014 in honor of late owner William Clay Ford Sr. who passed away earlier that year.

You won't be seeing these new black uniforms any time soon, though.

The Lions are one of nine teams that won't be wearing their Color Rush uniform in 2016. Color Rush uniforms are exclusively for Thursday Night Football, and the Lions only Thursday game is on Thanksgiving.

"Our fans' passion for the team's uniform and overall brand continues to be evident," said Detroit Lions Team President Rod Wood in a news release. "While we won't wear a Color Rush uniform on the field this year, we look forward to the possibility of wearing a Color Rush uniform in 2017."

In 2015, the NFL and Nike launched the Color Rush program with uniforms for eight teams playing in four Thursday Night Football games last season. The Color Rush program is expected to continue in future seasons and any club not wearing their Color Rush uniform on the field this year will have the opportunity to do so in future seasons.
