Detroit Lions Ziggy Ansah visits students in Canton

A Detroit Lions player went back to school Tuesday.

The kids were smiling and excited to see Ziggy Ansah as he talked with them about the importance of staying in school. He joined them after student Daniel Rice at Miller Elementary in Canton won a contest at National Coney Island.

"For me, coming out of Africa, education has been one of the most important things on my mind. Your parents want you to go to school; they want you to succeed in school and be able to come back home and take care of them," he told the class. "You wouldn't be able to play football if your grades are no good. So what does that tell you? That you've got to make sure you keep up with school."

He also spent the time signing autographs and taking pictures.

"Everybody here is going to be a future leader some day," he told the kids.

Daniel also gets four tickets to the Lions game and a special gift from the Lions and a $100 gift card to National Coney Island. A second winner in Detroit will be taking a different Lions player to school next week.
