Baricaded murder suspect in custody after hours-long standoff

Detroit police and FBI agents have taken a person in custody after a standoff at a home with a barricaded gunman wanted for murder Friday morning.

It happened at an abandoned home in the 9100 block of Dawes Street, which is near Wyoming Avenue and Joy Road. The standoff began around 7:30 a.m. and the suspect was taken into custody just before 1 p.m. It is unclear at this time if he surrendered.

We're told the suspect is Jermaine Cooper, and he is wanted for the murder of Melissa Moore in Grand Rapids on November 6, 2015. Moore was 31 years old and a mother of two boys. She worked as a bartender.
