Detroit police are looking for the public's help identifying a man they believe may be responsible for attempting a series of sexual assaults on the city's east side.

Authorities have released this sketch of the suspect. Right now, they believe this suspect may be responsible for at least four incidents of attempted sexual assaults since December 18.

Police say the sexual assaults began in the second week of December and they've been happening between midnight and 5:00 a.m. They say they've connected at least two more cases to the suspect.

He is described as a black male between the ages of 17-23, being about 5 feet 8 inches tall, weighing around 135 lbs. He is said to have dark brown eyes, dark brown smoker's lips, a light fuzzy mustache and had a piercing in his right nostril and was wearing green starter earrings. He was also armed with a kitchen knife.

Michael Hughes is the brother of one of the victims. He told FOX 2's Josh Landon he found his 17-year-old sister in the back bedroom of their home around 6:00 a.m. as he was getting ready for school.

"From what was told to me, she had a gash on her head, her laptop was stolen. They don't, she's stable, her vital signs are good, she's on a breathing machine though," Michael Hughes said. He also said the attack happened while the family slept. "There was no signs of forced entry, no doors picked, no windows, we're just trying to get. Was your sister conscious? She was conscious, but she was non responsive."

The other two assaults police say are connected happened on Haverhill and Somerset, all within a one-mil radius in the east side neighborhood.

If you have any information about the suspect or know of any other sexual assaults that may be related, you're asked to contact Detective Kane at (313) 596-1950.
