UPDATE: Both suspects have been arrested in the incident.

Detroit Police are negotiating with a man who police say fired shots during a traffic stop.

Police say just after 3:30 p.m. Tuesday officers were performing a street investigation stemming a series of robberies in the area near Woodmere and Sharon on the city's west side.

One of the victims set up a sting with police to buy back her items when police moved in on the three suspects when one opened fire at a Michigan Department of Corrections officer taking part in the operation. No injuries were reported and one of the suspects were arrested.

The second suspect ran into a nearby apartment complex and was barricaded. He was later caught walking out with some family members and taken into custody without incident.

Both suspects are 17-year-olds.

According to police, the wanted man is a parole absconder.
