DETROIT (WJBK) - The suspect wanted in an AMBER Alert issued Tuesday morning has been taken into custody in northwest Detroit. The 2-year-old girl who was missing has also been found safe.
Authorities had been in pursuit of the suspect for nearly 30 minutes in a chase that took them from Romulus through Dearborn, before ending at Seven Mile and Meyers in Detroit. The missing 2-year-old, Sondra Renee, was found safe inside the car.
Authorities issued an AMBER Alert around 7 a.m. Tuesday for Sondra. They say the suspect, Grady Barrett, forcefully took her from a relative's house in Detroit in the middle of the night.
