Detroit police looking for man who attempted kidnapping teen

Detroit police need the public's help finding a suspect wanted in an attempted kidnapping of a girl.

Investigators say the suspect tried to kidnap the 13-year-old in the area of Chicago and Linwood on the west side, on Nov. 7.

At about 3:20 p.m. the girl was walking to a store when the suspect, driving a black SUV, pulled up and told her to get inside his vehicle. She continued walking, and then heard the man's vehicle door open and saw him running in her direction.

The girl ran, being chased by the man, who eventually got back in the SUV and fled west bound on Chicago from Linwood.

He is described as a black man in his 20s or 30s, 6 feet tall with a medium build, light complexion, dark brown eyes, dark lips and mustache. He was wearing a black du rag and gray jogging pants.
