Divers find body in Handy Lake after swimmer goes missing in Hartland

HARTLAND, Mich. (WJBK) - Divers recovered the body of a man from a lake in Hartland Monday afternoon. 

Police search teams were looking a missing 18-year-old swimmer at Handy Lake who had gone swimming with friends and never surfaced.

The young man had told friends he was going to swim to shore.

A body was found and taken to shore just after 5:30 p.m. from the lake which is south of M-59 and east of US-23.

The swimmer has not been identified.
