A dominatrix dishes out dirt about her clients on social media - now she's the one in handcuffs.

She has been charged with extorting money from a Wayne County man. It involves Erica Jean Freeman known on Twitter as @NirvanaFetish, who posts her dominatrix and fetishist lifestyle, which involves inflicting pain and humiliation on different men.

According to a federal complaint, the 25-year-old is accused of extorting money from a married Wayne County man threatening to expose their online affair.

The man allegedly paid nearly $10,000 to keep Freeman quiet.

Sitting comfortably, inside her house of pain, metro Detroit's "Lady Pain" as she is known, believes there may be more to this case than it appears.

"There is a lot of game playing," she said. "Just because someone is submissive does not necessarily make them innocent."

But Lady Pain believes there may be more to Freeman's motivation.

"Financial domination where men want their wallets controlled by women too," she said. "However it is not a completely uncommon thing. I have even seen such pro doms make threats because they have been getting harassment from men particularly online who won't go away."

But it appears Freeman was the one who didn't go away. The complaint says she threatened the married man saying "You can't ignore me you stupid junkie. I swear on my dogs' lives I will contact your wife if you keep this up."

Investigators tracked the emails and payments to a PayPal account to a computer in Fairburn, Georgia, which belongs to Freeman.

"If she has a good lawyer I could see her using it as a part of her defense," Lady Pain said. "However, I feel real negatively toward any online bullying. But the fact she is facing prison time - if she is guilty - I say give it to her."

Lady Pain makes a living satisfying the BDSM community and advocating for the lifestyle, says she is disappointed that dominatrixes who lead happy and healthy lives are always put in a negative light. She said she wonders if this case would get the same attention of it was any other affair.

"If she is doing these things then already she had the capacity within her," she said. "She is working within a niche occupation and doing that is getting more attention than if she was run of the mill soccer mom doing the same thing."

Freeman was contacted on Twitter but did not respond. She will be headed back to Michigan to be formally charged.
