DPD takes on MDOC in hockey game to benefit injured officer

It's an annual hockey game between the Detroit Police Department and the Michigan Department of Corrections - all to help one of their own.

In April 2017, everything changed for Arin Johnson and his family when his dad Officer Waldis Johnson was shot in the head going to a domestic violence call. The injury was very serious.

Last year organizers of the hockey event say they raised $5,000.

This is also a reminder of the sacrifice our men and women in blue and their families take on whenever they wear the badge.
