A drive-by shooting Tuesday afternoon killed a man on the southwest side of Detroit.

The 47-year-old man was driving a black Lexus car and was shot to death near McGraw and Lonyo. Police say his passenger walked away uninjured.

"I heard gunshots come out from the Pontiac," said Abe, a witness. "(He) was just shooting at him from the window. (He) pulled up right next to him."

Abe says he was doing work around his house but stopped so he could check on the victim

"I just saw the guy dead in his car," Abe said.

Those who know the victim came to a scene in shock..

They call their friend Raymond and according to government officials the car is registered to a Raymond Faulks of Jackson.

Raymond's friends say he was shot at nearly two weeks ago during a robbery. A woman does not want to be identified says Raymond was like family.

"He got robbed and got shot or something like that," she said. "It must have been someone who wanted what he had. That's crazy."

Police say they have not confirmed the incident, but say its part of their investigation.

Investigators also believe Tuesday's deadly shooting is drug related.

"He was a good guy, he didn't start any trouble," she said. "He stayed to himself. He was a grown man who took care of business. He took care of it."

She said it's time for this violence to stop.

"He didn't mess with nobody," she said. "Whoever did this him that was wrong."
