Dust devil spotted in Canton Thursday

CANTON, Mich. (WJBK) - SkyFOX captured cool video Thursday afternoon of a dust devil spinning around Canton. This particular dust devil went up a few thousand feet into the air.

FOX 2's Weather Authority Rich Luterman says these dust devils are pretty common this time of year. They happen when the ground warms up quickly, particularily pavement in and around buildings, and the air surrounding it rushes in, causing a spin.

Usually they cause no problems.
