Families want justice for man, pregnant mom of 2 shot to death in home

A man and pregnant woman were shot dead inside a home and, months later, the killer is still on the run.

"I don't understand how anyone can take a precious life and walk around like nothing happened," says Monica Wilson.

Wilson is still coming to terms with the murder of her daughter Sophia. The 29-year-old mother of two, and 41-year-old Daniel Brown were gunned down while sitting in a house in southwest Detroit.

It happened in the 2000 block of Deacon near Visger in early September. Wilson was pregnant when she was killed.

"She was so full of life. When she walked into a room, that smile, she was like a ray of sunshine," says Monica.

"That day on September 5, that was the hardest day of my life," says father Eugene Wilson. "It's like I lost a part of me, even though I still have three beautiful daughters here."

Police say the gunman fired into the house with a rifle, hitting Brown in the head and Wilson in the neck. Their families are convinced someone knows who the gunman is and they're hoping and praying they come forward.

"This has been going on too far long," Eugene says. "Life is too short for this. Instead of us burying our kids, they should be burying us."

You can help them find closure. A $2,500 reward is being offered for information leading to an arrest. Crime Stoppers will add an extra thousand dollars to the reward if the tip came in by midnight on Tuesday.
