Family offers $10K reward for missing Detroit grandmother

Sabrina Vanner hasn't been seen since last week, and disappearing is something she's never done before. The family is offering a $10,000 reward for her safe return.

"We still have hope that she is still alive and that she can be found," said daughter Kenneasha Williams.

That hope is keeping Williams and her family afloat.

Sabrina went missing May 5 during the power outage. She left her son's house in the 14000 block of Grandmont to charge her phone. Her long absence caused her family to become concerned. When the hours became days, they really began to worry.

"We call her constantly," said Williams. "It is not like her to go this many days without talking to her children."

Williams and her siblings filed a missing person’s report last week. Needless to say, Mother's Day was incredibly difficult.

"Who wants to wake up and hear that you don't know where your mom is," said Williams.

Detroit police detectives are investigating the 59-year-old's disappearance. Neighbors say they're keeping an eye out for her.

Williams says her mother is familiar with the Tireman and Livernois area on Detroit's west side, as well as Grand River from Greenfield to Livernois and the neighborhoods near Dexter Avenue.

Vanner was last seen wearing blue jeans, a gray jacket and black shoes. She is about 5 feet, 5 inches tall and weighs around 155 pounds.

If you have seen her, call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAK-UP or Detroit police (313) 596-5200.
