A Michigan mother left for work, then vanished without a trace. That was five days ago.

Julia Bolter's loved ones say it is very unlike her, especially with two big family events coming up.

"I don't know why it takes so long to find her," says Ashley Bolter, her daughter.

The tears haven't stopped since her mother went missing on Friday. She was last seen by her daughter halfway through her shift, where they both work on the assembly line at Tribar Manufacturing in Howell.

"She asked me if I'd be mad at her if she was to leave," Ashley says. "That was earlier in the day and I said, 'No, if you need to, go home.'"

Ashley says her mother had been recently stressed in the workplace, and was out of sorts when she left that day around noon, but said she was planning on heading straight home.

Julia was last seen driving a red Chevrolet Cavalier with a Michigan license plate DSL 5847.

"We're supposed to go get a dress for her to be in my wedding," Ashley says. "This is not right. Something feels off.

"It's just not something she would do, just up and leave. There's just no way. "

In the next month, two of her daughters are celebrating weddings. Photos of Julia trying on dresses were taken just last week.

"She's done a lot for the wedding. She was happy about painting the chairs we did last weekend, we went out Fourth of July,"  Ashley says.

Livingston Country Sheriffs deputies are investigating.

The family's worst fear is that Julia may have been in an accident and is in need of help. All phone calls to her are going straight to voicemail.

"She means the world to me," Ashley says. "That's my mother. She's everything to all of us.

"She helped me, she helped everybody. She was always there."

The family says she does have a history of depression, which may be a factor.

"I just wish I would have listened to her more about how she was treated at work," Ashley said. "So sorry Julie, I love you."
