TAYLOR, Mich. (WJBK) - A man is in police custody after a fatal shooting at a trucking business in Taylor Thursday morning.
Taylor Police say the 45-year-old suspect walked into BSD Trucking, which is in the 24400 block of Pennsylvania, around 10:30 a.m. with a semiautomatic weapon. Police say he started yelling and shooting very quickly, and struck and killed one person.
Afterwards, police say the suspect stole one of the business's trucks from a driver at gunpoint, and used it to get away.
The truck was eventually tracked down in Oakland County and the suspect was taken into custody in the Pontiac area. A sergeant with the Oakland County Sheriff Department says authorities are also working a homicide investigation in Pontiac they believe may also be connected to the suspect.
Taylor Police say the suspect was a former employee of BSD Trucking. Police say the suspect returned to the business once since being let go for a payroll dispute, and threatened the same employee with a gun. Taylor Police responded to that incident in November of 2017 and arrested the suspect. He received multiple charges, including assault and weapons charges, and has been out since on bond.
Police have not yet given the name of the BSD Trucking victim who was killed in the shooting.
