The feds say they've foiled a terror plot that was brewing right here in metro Detroit.

The 29-year-old suspect had amassed numerous weapons, including high-powered explosives. Federal investigators say Sebastian Gregerson was living with his family, had a massive arsenal and talked about a possible attack.

Neighbors say they had no idea.

Arthur said Gregerson was nice enough to once shovel his snowy driveway, saying he was a father who often spent time outside with his wife and two young boys.

Arthur says he never suspected Gregerson may have ties to ISIS and had plans of a possible terrorist attack.

"It really creeps me out seeing all over the world but we've never seen anything like that, what he was planning to do," said Arthur.

According to court records Gregerson had an arsenal of weapons he began buying in April of 2015. Knives, hundreds of rounds of AK-47 ammunition, tactical gear, ski masks and a training video for using a Russian assault rifle.

On his Facebook page he had posted photos of a man carrying an Islamic state flag and a meme that makes mentions of shooting sprees.

Feds investigated Gregerson for 16 months. According to the complaint on July 15th he invited an undercover agent over to his house and showed him some of his weapons, including a grenade, a grenade launcher, ak-47 and a machete.

Gregerson told the agent he planned to carry out an attack on a building. He was immediately arrested when he tried to buy even more high-powered explosives from the undercover agent.

"You don't go squirrel hunting with that," Arthur said. "That is something (where) you want to hurt people with that. Amazing,  because the guy was so nice."

Gregerson has been charged with an unregistered possession of  a destructive device and unlicensed receipt of explosive materials - if convicted he faces up to 10 years in federal prison.

FOX 2 tried to speak to his wife but she didn't answer the door. Neighbors believed she was inside with the boys but no one has seen her leave the house since the arrest.
