Ferndale voters are loving this cat that wouldn't leave its polling place

A cat has been getting some unexpected attention on social media this Election Day. It's been hanging out at a polling place in Ferndale all morning long.

Many have photographed the black-and-white cat at the Gerry Kulick Community Center, and are sharing pictures on social media.

The cat roamed the hallways, mingling with voters waiting in line. One voter also snapped a picture-purrfect shot of the cat nestled into the "Vote Here!" sign outside the building.

Voter Nicole Scott snapped some of the photos, and tells us the cat is apparently a well-known outside cat in the city. She says voter volunteers eventually called the cat's owner because the cat kept getting inside after they'd carry it back outdoors.

We're told the cat's name is Mason.
