No arrests were made but Detroit police are responding to video of a huge fight that broke out on the street near the University of Detroit Mercy just moments after Detroit Police Athletic League ended its annual Cheer event on campus.

The video was shared to FOX 2 Detroit from Matt Arce and Neema Katibai, students at the University of Detroit Mercy. Matt shot video of the fight from the roof, while Neema recorded it from the front porch of the home on Fairfield Street behind Calihan Hall.

No weapons were involved and nobody was arrested for the fight. However, Detroit Police said they did respond to the scene to help UDM public safety put an end to the ordeal.

The fight happened just after more than 1,500 cheerleaders performed and competed in front of family and friends.

A spokesperson fro the Detroit PAL released this statement:

"The poor decisions made by a small group of individuals during our annual Cheer event does not at all reflect the values and mission of Detroit PAL. We strive to provide positive, safe environments that foster enriching character development for our young athletes. We are very pleased that over 1,000 talented PAL cheerleaders had the opportunity to perform and compete in front of supportive friends and family members, and we will continue our long history of uplifting Detroit PAL athletes through afterschool programs and events."

UDM is not releasing a statement on the matter because, according to Director of Media Relations Gary Lichtman, the fight happened off campus.
