Fingerprint entry technology coming to Comerica Park

Comerica Park is leading the way when it comes to technology as baseball parks. Some new equipment has been installed to help speed things up at the gate entry.

Comerica Park is one of the first stadiums in the country to have an fingerprint entry. The technology has been installed now at Gate A and launches on Tuesday, July 25.

The new technology is called CLEAR, and uses biometrics. It's similar to what you see on your smart phone.

You have to enroll, for free, on-site at Comerica Park, which takes just a few minutes. Then you're good to get in with just the swipe of a finger.

CLEAR technology is used at a few other ballparks in the country, and some airports, too. In fact, the technology was launched at Detroit Metro airport in the fall for the security lines, and is getting rave reviews by flyers.

If you travel a lot, you could upgrade your CLEAR account with a monthly fee to be able to use this technology wherever it's enabled.
