Protesters were inside the capitol building in Lansing, calling for the immediate removal of Gov. Rick Snyder Thursday. The group is outraged over the state's handling of the Flint water crisis demanding an investigation and even criminal charges.

Test kits, filters, and plenty of water.  And now a total of 30 members of the U.S. National Guard will be deployed to Flint.

Flint Fire Chief David Cox, Jr. said he is thankful for the helping hands.

Lines are out the door at all of Flint's five fire stations. But are 30 guardsmen enough? Sgt. Robert Bretz, of the National Guard, says there is more to come.

Most residents in Flint are happy to see the National Guard and Red Cross. But drinking the water still a problem and many residents are still concerned.

Some even say they are still suffering health effects.

FOX 2: "Do you trust the filters are going to work."

"To be truthful, no," said resident Huey Gilbert.

"I don't believe that," said resident Helen Jones. "I don't believe it, I will not bathe in it and I will not drink it."

And drinking filtered water even has some officials uneasy.

"I would put filters on my faucets here in Flint," Cox said. "And I am not saying drink it, but I will use it for other things."

Residents are also being given lead testing kits. You fill it up with tap water, fill out a form and take it to city hall where your water will be tested.

And Flint has other issues.

"Why we paying all these water bills when we can't use the water," said resident Mrs. James. "That is what I am concerned about.

"They can try to lower the bills or something."

A water donation drive by FOX 2 and iHeart Media is being held at Kroger at 13 Mile and Woodward between 8 a.m. and 1 p.m. Jan. 16. CLICK HERE FOR DETAILS.
