Fog, black ice make for slick Monday morning commute

Michigan State Police urged caution to drivers in Metro Detroit Monday morning. When you woke up, you probably noticed some frost and maybe even some fog outside your window.

MSP also saw fog and black ice on the freeways and even some main roads, and several accidents slowed things down this morning.

I-275 southbound between I-94 and Eureka Road was closed for a fatal accident investigation. MSP said a rollover crash happened just before 5:30 a.m., killing one person. Around 11:45, the highway was reopened.

Along with the fog and frost, we got a cold start to the work week. Temps were in the 20s for most of us this morning, and the chill will stick around for most of the week.

Two cold fronts are expected to come through this week; the first tonight into Tuesday and then Tuesday night into Wednesday. They'll bring a little bit of snow but nothing major is expected.
