2 men open fire on DoorDash driver in Detroit

A delivery driver was attacked in Detroit early Wednesday when he says two suspects opened fire on his car and tried to steal it.

Chris had only been working for food delivery company Door Dash for a week when early in the morning he picked up an order from the McDonalds on Michigan Avenue and got the scare of his life when he stopped to make the delivery.

"As soon as I opened my door I notice in the rear view mirror that the car behind me -- someone opened their door. And I looked in my side mirror, I could see his shadow. He was kneeling down, creeping towards the car," he said.

Chris immediately drove away from the 1900 block of West Bethune and as he was driving:

"He just shot up the whole back windshield," Chris said.

And we counted four bullet holes on the body of the 2017 Toyota Corolla rental car.

"The bullets were lodged into the windshield, once I got onto the freeway the windshield fell in," he said.

And the car that Chris says he parked in front of when he stopped to drop off the food, the one he says the suspect got out of was on older gray Taurus.

That's the same type of car parked in front of the house.

Chris is shaken up but thankful he didn't get shot. The father of three young children, Chris says his days of being a food delivery driver are over -- it's time to look for another job.
