FOX 2 Mitchell Poll: Clinton stays at 5 percent lead on Trump post-debate

A brand new FOX 2 Mitchell Research Poll shows what Michigan voters are saying about who won the big debate -- between Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton.

Of the likely voters surveyed, 51 percent say Clinton was the winner, 25 percent say Trump, 18 percent thought it was a tie and 6 percent weren't sure.

Now when asked which candidate they would vote for, 46 percent say Hillary Clinton and 41 percent say Donald Trump.

Some don't like either of them. Libertarian Gary Johnson gets 8 percent and Green Party candidate Jill Stein gets 1 percent with 4 percent undecided.

Just last month. Clinton had the same five-point lead which could mean the debate didn't do much to change anyone's mind.

In the last FOX 2 Detroit/Mitchell Poll conducted August 9-10, Clinton led by 5 percent in a two-way race (47 percent to 42 percent) and by 6 percent in a four-way race.

“The race has stayed the same in Michigan despite the fact that twice as many voters think Clinton won the debate than think that Trump did.  Fifty-one percent said Clinton to 25% who said Trump.  Clinton leads by five percent in both a two-way and four-way race that includes Libertarian Gary Johnson and Green Party candidate Jill Stein,” Steve Mitchell, CEO of Mitchell Research & Communications said.
