Funeral arrangements for Free Press columnist Drew Sharp

(WJBK) - Funeral arrangements have been announced for Drew Sharp, the Detroit Free Press sports columnist who died last week.
Sharp's family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 26, 2016 from 4-8 p.m. at A.J. Desmond & Sons (Vasu, Rodgers & Connell Chapel), located at 32515 Woodward Avenue in Royal Oak.
A memorial service will then be held Thursday, October 27 - 11 a.m. at Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church on Adams Road in Bloomfield Hills. Visitation at church begins Thursday at 10:30 a.m.

Sharp had been a columnist since 1999. He was 38 when he was promoted to columnist to replace the retiring Charlie Vincent, the Free Press reported.
He died at age 56 at his home in Bloomfield Hills.
