Gayle's Chocolates relocating from Royal Oak to Arizona after 34 years

A chocolate staple in Royal Oak is closing its doors. After 34 years, Gayle's Chocolates is relocating from Washington Avenue to Arizona.

Owner Gayle Harte and her husband are relocating out west, and taking the popular chocolate company with them.

Millions of pounds of chocolate creations have been made at Gayle's Chocolates over the years.

To thank her customers, Gayle is giving away a free box of her original 4-piece truffles with every Easter order of $50 or more. Also, the first 100 customers to visit the store on her birthday (Saturday, April 21) will get one of the truffle boxes just for stopping in.

The store is located at 417 S. Washington Ave.

Gayle's is expected to close that after Mother's Day, Sunday, May 13. Furniture, fixtures, ribbon, packaging and molds will be sold that weekend.

You can still place orders online -- or head out west and visit her new store in Cottonwood, Ariz.
