Good Cakes and Bakes thriving on Detroit's Avenue of Fashion

DETROIT (FOX 2) - April Anderson started baking delicious treats inside her home in Detroit when she was just 9 years old. 

Now she's turned her passion into a thriving business. 

Good Cakes and Bakes is an organic, all natural community bakery on the Avenue of Fashion in Detroit. It's been open for a little over 5 years now, and specializes in organic and vegan baked goods. 

"We make a delicious Red Velvet; we make something called a Lemon Gooey Butter Cake that we've made for Oprah Winfrey and her team. We make vegan brownies that we've made and shipped to former president Bill Clinton in Harlem; we made vegan carrot cake; we make breakfast sandwiches," Anderson tells us.
