The scramble to sway voters as Election Day nears and the Clinton and Trump campaigns are making Michigan a big priority.

Monday night GOP vice-presidential nominee Mike Pence is speaking at a private event in Shelby Township. He will be at the annual Macomb County Republican Party Lincoln Day fundraiser at the Palazzo Grande Banquet Ballroom.

Doors were supposed to have opened at 5 p.m. but many are still waiting. We are two days away from the final debate and three weeks away from the legs. It obviously shows the importance of this state in the upcoming election.

Once they get inside they'll be greeted to a private reception with the Indiana governor

A number of speakers including Mike Pence will begin at 6:30 p.m. It's a sold-out event. Tickets were $60 a person just for dinner to attend the private reception. That would cost you $175.

FOX 2 spoke to one of the people waiting in line who says she was the first woman to own a business in the state. It was a plastics molding company that closed due to NAFTA, she said.

"I love Mr. Trump, I want Mr. Trump," she said. "We need a businessman, not another lawyer."
