Gratiot Avenue closed after Chene Street in Detroit
DETROIT (WJBK) - Police in Detroit have closed Gratiot in both directions in Detroit between Dubois Street and Vernor Highway due to an accident.
Police closed Gratiot Avenue around 7:45 due to the accident that may involve a pedestrian.
According to Detroit police, a man was walking when he was hit and killed by a driver. Police said the driver is cooperating and remained on the scene.
Video from SkyFox showed traffic backed up several miles north of the accident and traffic was being routed around the accident via Dubois Street before drivers came back to Vernor Highway and then Gratiot.
