Grosse Pointe Farms man critically injured after stabbing at home

Police are investigating a stabbing outside of a home in Grosse Pointe Farms Sunday night.

According to police, a man in his 60s was found on the sidewalk outside of his home on Voltaire Place.

Police say the man has been identified as well-known interior designer Daniel E. Clancy.

According to Grosse Pointe Farms Police, Clancy was in his home around 4 p.m. Sunday with at least one other person when a fight broke out.

Clancy was stabbed at least three times and was rushed to a Detroit hospital. Police said the man is expecting to survive after originally saying he was not expected to do so.

Police say the attack happened inside of his 8,400 square foot home on Voltaire in the Farms. They ask anyone with information to call police at 313-885-2100
