Hamtramck mom hopes surveillance video will help get son's pint-sized wheels back

“He’s mad. He’s pissed.”

You would be too if a couple of crooks stole your favorite toy right off your front porch.

Jazmine Cymone says her 7-year-old son Elijah is stunned. A couple of crooks were caught on camera swiping his Polaris Slingshot Thursday. It happened on 2400 block of Danforth in Hamtramck.

“That's the only thing he was asking for his birthday and that's what I got him. He hadn't even had the car 20 days. Not even 20 days. His birthday is August 17th. That's when he got the car.”

Jazmine says they realized that someone stole the Slingshot Thursday afternoon as they drove home from his school.

“As soon as we turned up the block, he said ‘Can I drive my car?’ I said no, we're going to do some work first then you can drive it. When we pulled up it was gone.”

A neighbor's security camera is pointed at Jazmine's house and recorded the rip-off.

“It has to be somebody from the neighborhood. It’s got to be. They walked away with it. They didn't come up with a car. They walked away with it.”

If you have any information about the Slingshot being stolen or recognize the guys in the video, please do little Elijah and his mom a favor and call Hamtramck Police.
