Harper Woods 2-year-old thrown to ground as thieves carjack father

The Harper Woods Police Department said a two-year-old girl was thrown to the ground Tuesday night when two armed men carjacked her father in the family driveway.

Police said the girl and her father had just pulled into the family home on Kenosha just after 11 p.m. Tuesday. While in the driveway, the man said two black men carrying guns approached him.

He said he was ordered to the ground and one of the suspects pulled the girl from the car and threw her to the ground. The two men got into his car and drove off, leaving the father and daughter on the ground in front of their own home.

Police said the two men drove off with the man's purple 2007 Ford Edge and a light colored SUV was was following behind them. Police believe the suspects followed the victim from the area of Harper and Moross area to his home on Kenosha.

The man was not injured, the young girl had a minor injury but is expected to be okay.

The SUV is purple and similar to the one pictured with this story. It has a Michigan license plate BFV 330. Anyone with information is asked to call Harper Woods Department of Public Safety or CRIMESTOPPERS at 1-800-SPEAKUP.
