Hazel Park man charged for shooting, stabbing wife released on bond

A Hazel Park man charged with trying to kill his wife is out on bond tonight.

Radu Muntean bonded out of jail under the condition that he have no contact with his wife.

He was charged with assault with intent to murder, and unlawful imprisonment among other crimes and could spend life in prison if convicted.

An undercover officer found Muntean in his pickup in the middle of a field at Lyford and Gilbo in Detroit on March 23.

Inside the truck was Muntean's 32-year-old wife. Police say she was bound with duct tape with her face slashed and had gunshot wounds to both legs.

Neighbors told FOX 2 the couple were never seen fighting but were seeking therapy.

In a previous court appearance he told the judge he works for himself.

"I own a few rentals, a food truck and a construction business," he said.

Muntean's bond was set $100,000.
