Head-on collision kills mother of two in Grosse Pointe Farms

One witness describes it as something you'd see in a movie. One woman left dead, another critically injured after a head-on crash in Grosse Pointe Farms Saturday. 
A 43-year-old mother, driving with her two kids in a Ford Flex had what police believe was a medical episode that caused her to get up to a high rate of speed and then caused her to lose control of her vehicle, crashing head-on with another vehicle.

The other vehicle according to police, was a GMC Arcadia driven by a 73-year-old woman. The mother in the Ford Flex was pronounced dead on-scene. There were also 2 kids in the car as well. Police say the children were taken to St. John hospital with non-life threatening injuries and are expected to be okay.

The 73-year-old woman in the Acadia was according to police in the wrong place at the wrong time, was also taken to St. John hospital she is said to be in critical condition.

Police are investigating.
