I-75 reopen at I-696 after hazmat crash clean-up

Interstate 75 has reopened at Interstate 696 Thursday morning after crews spent hours cleaning up a fuel spill after an accident.

The accident happened on the northbound side just after 696. We're told a small car crashed with a semi truck, hitting its fuel tank. Crews closed the northbound side during morning rush hour in the area as they cleaned up the fuel spill with a HAZMAT crew.

Traffic was backed up in northbound I-75 to 7 Mile Road; on westbound I-696 to Groesbeck and on the eastbound side to Coolidge. Another traffic near Coolidge was also causing slowdowns.

No serious injuries have been reported in either accident.
