Investigation continues after lost toddler in street was reunited with parents

A toddler was found walking in the middle of the street wearing only a diaper Friday.

He was reunited with his parents a few hours later as the police investigation into what happened, continues.

The boy was released by police with his parents with Child Protective Services investigating.

The 1-year-old child was found at Beaconsfield and Grayton on Detroit's east side by a resident at 1:50 p.m.  was reunited by police with his parents at about 4 p.m.

The resident who spotted the child frantically waved at motorists for help when Debora Gunn stopped.

"She said I have this baby in a car, I almost hit him," she said. "He was walking in the street and she said she didn't know whose baby this is. She said please come look, do you recognize this child."

Gunn is a mother and grandmother, says she gave the baby a clean diaper and comforted the child. Police canvassed the area looking for the parents.

At 4:15 police said the parents came to the Ninth District Police Station to pick up their child.
